Our Canadian travels this year is a circle tour around Huron and Superior – so it is both Canada and the northern U.S. Starting off with a week in Killarney!

We’ll be taking an epic North American road trip starting from Saskatoon SK, traveling west through the Rockies than heading north to the Yukon and Alaska. We will then swing south to Prince Rupert, BC and travel the inside passage to Vancouver Island. Continuing south, we will travel the Olympic Peninsula and then head west across Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming to Yellowstone. Then a quick trip across the prairies, north to Manitoba, around the north shore of Lake Superior, south to Manitoulin Island, the Bruce Peninsula and home to Toronto. Trip will probably take 5-6 weeks.

I’ve lived in Alberta my whole life, but I’ve never been to Waterton Lakes National Park. I’m hoping to take a few days off in the summer to road trip out to Waterton.

We’ll be spending a lot of our time in the ontario wilderness. Ten days in Lady Evelyn Smoothwater park and eight days in Algonquin park. Lots of canoeing, portaging, swimming, and fishing.

We’re doing our annual migration home (from Scotland) – to visit family and friends and soak up some proper summer. It usually involves a meandering road trip between Vancouver and Calgary, but we take a different series of roads each time. – stopping to swim in lakes, wander through stream beds, grab a local bite, and hike up hills. We do some wildlife spotting…and keep a tally of our sights each summer. Perfect!

We’re spending two weeks in beautiful Fernie, BC, hiking, mountain biking and swimming at Surveyor’s Lake. In August, we dump the kids at their grandparents’ house and head to Jasper to hike the Skyline Trail!

I’m spending the summer exploring my own area – and the rest of Ontario. Cottage weekends. Bike ride explorations in the county. Wine treks. Runs along the waterfront. Time to appreciate what we have locally.

We hear you Jason. We’re always in the backcountry here, just outside of Calgary. Beauty in everyone’s backyards, if they happen to be living in Canada. We’ll announce the winner of this contest within the week!

I’ll be spending my summer in Iqaluit, Nunavut! I would rather travel in the spring and fall, staying home for the beautiful arctic summer. Iqaluit is located just below the treeline, so the sun sets but it doesn’t get dark. It may not be hot, but it rarely snows. Arctic summers are fantastic!
